A Lap Around Telerik Test Studio

PRESENTER:
John Bristowe

SESSION ABSTRACT:

Testing: Great idea? Or, the greatest idea? Sure, we all want to do it. But how many of you can say it's easy? That's typically what snubbed us; the complexity and maintenance of tests for our code. Wouldn't it be awesome if there was a better way? In this session, John Bristowe will show you how to achieve test nirvana with Telerik Test Studio. He'll highlight functional UI testing, load testing, and performance testing all through Test Studio's experience.

Testing in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment Workflows

PRESENTER:
Anthony Borton

SESSION ABSTRACT:

The soon to be released (20th July) Team Foundation Server 2015 and Visual Studio Online feature a completely redeveloped Build system. Hopefully many of you will have seen this in Damian's presentation last month.

In this month's talk I will be presenting on testing in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment workflows using 2015. As part of this talk I'll demonstrate setting up a CI build, enabling unit tests, setting up continuous deployment and automating remote test execution.

I will also walk though setting up your test servers using the new "machines" feature in the Test Hub and how to automate the deployment of the Visual Studio Test Agent. Finally, we'll take a look at analysing the test results.

TITLE:
Introducing Team Foundation Build vNext

PRESENTER:
Damian Brady

SESSION ABSTRACT:

Working with Team Foundation Build doesn't feature in many "Top 10 fun things for developers" lists, but that might be about to change.

With Visual Studio 2015, Microsoft have introduced a significant update to the build automation features in Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Visual Studio Online. Bearing little resemblance to the Windows Workflow TFBuild of old, there's a completely new experience for defining, monitoring and reviewing your builds in the browser. If that's not enough, you'll soon be able to automate builds on Windows, OSX and Linux!

In this session, I'll demonstrate the new Team Foundation Build. We'll explore the new UI and architecture and show you how the new system fits together. We'll also set up a few definitions, trigger some builds, and even look at importing your own custom tasks.

SPEAKER BIO:

I’m a Microsoft MVP in Application Lifecycle Management and I work as a Solution Architect for Octopus Deploy. I’m also a co-author of Professional Team Foundation Server 2013 from Wiley. I run the Brisbane .Net User Group, and the annual DeveloperDeveloperDeveloper Brisbane conference. I spend a lot of time training teams on how to improve their software, be it through improving their agile process, devops, or code quality. I regularly speak at conferences, User Groups, and other events, but most of the time you’ll find me working on Octopus Deploy, or helping teams get the most out of their devops strategies.
