Requirements to released and monitoring in 60 minutes
Many of our user group meetups have been focused on a specific feature, technology or product. In this month's meetup I've decided to try something a little different.
I want to show as much of a end to end demonstration as possible using Microsoft Visual Studio Online. I'll keep the application pretty simple (Read AddTwoNumbers.aspx) and will walk through the following:
- creating a new project
- entering the requirements
- use the Agile planning tools
- add the source to version control
- write tests
- create an automated build
- setup a release
- deploy to Azure
- looking at the usage in Application Insights
Clearly I must be crazy to try this.. right?
As you can imagine, it will be a very high level look at everything given the time constraints but I am often surprised by how few people have ever seen "all the bits" working together.
This month we'd also like to encourage our user group members to bring a friend/colleague along to let them find out about our friendly little group. Maybe the free breakfast might help persuade them to get up a little earlier :)
Catering this month is provided by ALM-Training and their newly released training courses on Build, Release Management, Application Insights and Scrum. Course dates now announced for Brisbane.
