This morning, the QLD VSTS Users group held a Demo-Fest as part of the Demos Happen Here competition. We had five brave user group members volunteer to present demos of not more than10 minutes each. The topics were diverse and were only limited to being on VS2008, SQL2008 or Windows 2008.

HowManyProductsCanIDoAtOnce William kicked off proceedings with a demo that included pretty much every possible Microsoft technology he could fit on his laptop.
Richard was the next prospective demo-god and he bravely chose the Forms Interop Toolkit and how we could breathe life into our existing VB6 apps. InSecretWeLoveVB6Too
ChuckNorris Steven tried to get the audience focused on his Chuck Norris shirt rather than his demo but I don't think it worked too well. (The shirt that is)
The demo on some of the LINQ features went over well.
Andrew was our second last speaker and he did a great job of showing us how we can quickly and easily ribbons using VS2008. RibbonMaster
VS2008Goodies and our final presenter, Matthew, showed us how to take command of VS2008 with all manner of tricks and tips!

At the end of the session we had all our attendees vote on who should be our user group's nominated finalist to attend the QLD state finals. The battle ended up being fought out between two front runs as you can see below. In the end I am happy to announce that the QVSTSUG is sending William off to the state finals as our nominee. Good luck William!

I'd also like to say a special thanks to John & Bronwen who helped out with video and photography during the event. Your efforts are much appreciated.
